Lionsgate's Plans for Twilight

There has been so much talk out there since it became final that Lionsgate bought Summit Entertainment for the sum of $412.5 million. I really didn't pay it much attention at first. I mean what do I really care if a company wants to buy out another. So I just ignored it as much as I could.

Zip it

This lasted until about two days ago when the rumors and stories started that Twilight would could continue in some form. I am thinking WTH? The movies are all finished filming with the last due out this fall. I like everyone else thought that maybe they were thinking that maybe it would go on in another movie of some sort. I can't see that since there is not more book.
Here is a quote from chief executive of Lions Gate Entertainment.

"I'm anticipating 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office," said Jon Feltheimer, predicting the next film would slightly outdo the $697 million global take of "Breaking Dawn Part 1."

But the one rumor that is spreading wide and far and is having fans creating Twitter petitions to put a stop to is the idea of bringing Twilight to the small screen. Lionsgate has the means as they also have a television production unit.

"Asked whether there was a possibility of bringing "Twilight" to television, Feltheimer answered, "I would certainly hope so."

So we really have no idea what the plans are at this point. Who knows what Lionsgate's plans are for Twilight in the future. Whatever they are they are keeping it to themselves. I for one can give you my thoughts on the whole ordeal. I for one can say that if this was turned into a series live or cartoon I will not be tuning into see it. I think that this is just going to far. I just think this is a horrible idea, maybe others won't agree, but from what I have seen from others on twitter and similar social networks fans are offended with the whole idea.

Tut tut

So I guess we just sit tight and wait to see what ideas are going to pop out. I just think we need to let Twilight go out gracefully with Breaking Dawn Part 2 (not that I want it to go). Let's leave this fandom some dignity. Twilight gets a lot of flack from other fandoms and adding a TV series or cartoon is just putting a nail in the coffin.

:smiley_resurrect_grave:

Well what do you all think? Are their ideas great or bad, or is this just a silly rumor.

Forever yours in Twilight,

Beyond Twilight
