This month is bringing us the anticipated release of The Hunger Games. A lot of fans are eagerly waiting to hit theaters to see this film. I have to admit to everyone that I am not in that majority. Yes! I am not a reader of the books or a fan of the series, but I am sure those who are will enjoy a terrific film.
What I wanted to just briefly rant about is all the hoopla out there where people keep comparing Twilight and Hunger Games. I just want to know WHY! There really is no comparison except that they both are based on a series of books and they both have a strong franchise fanbase.
I mean the stories are in no way similar to each other. I just don't get it at all. I read an article the other day that was talking about how The Hunger Games might make more money than Twilight. I have one thing to say about that. WHO CARES! I mean seriously the movie could make more than than all 4 twilight movies combined and will not diminished my love for the books or the franchise.
I think people out there want to have some sort of competition between the two, but I feel it is unnecessary to do that. Both are great fandoms and have a great followings. I have friends who love both and they never make me feel like I have to love the Hunger Games as they do.
I feel that people can be fans of both and not have to feel sorry for that at all. So if you love Twilight and/or Hunger Games there is no need to be ashamed of being a fan of both. I mean why can't we all just get along.
